Full of Love

Midnight

Midnight, a senior cat, received the care she needed at San Diego Human Society.

Midnight, a beautiful senior cat, was relinquished to San Diego Humane Society when her owner of 10 years could no longer care for her. From her first day in our shelter, Midnight was sweet and friendly, but we became concerned when she began to dramatically lose weight.

We realized that Midnight wasn't eating her food, which was causing her health to decline. At one point, she hadn't eaten in nearly four days. After running tests to rule out any illnesses, our veterinary staff realized what was wrong with Midnight—she's a social eater! Midnight prefers to eat meals when people are around. She enjoys the extra company and consumes more when someone is nearby. When she isn't given the attention that a pet receives at home, Midnight simply stops eating.

Getting this sweet senior kitty the nutrition she needed to thrive required us to go above and beyond. Midnight began living in our offices during the day so she would have companionship while she awaited a loving family. We were thrilled when, after three months in our care, she was finally adopted by a family that would give her the companionship she craved.

Your support allowed us to stand by Midnight's side until she found a family willing to care for her unique needs. This sweet senior cat who once refused to eat is now full of love and thriving! Every day, your generosity makes a lifesaving difference for animals like Midnight with special needs. Thank you for ensuring that unique stories like hers have happy endings.
