A Dream Come True

Dreamer

Thanks to the support of friends like you, Dreamer was able to get the care she needed before finding her forever home.

Dreamer, a sweet 4-year-old dog, was extremely sick when she was brought to San Diego Humane Society by a good Samaritan. She was suffering from a life-threatening internal infection called pyometra, which can be fatal when left untreated.

But thanks to the generosity of friends like you, our medical team was able to give Dreamer another chance. We immediately brought her to our Pilar & Chuck Bahde Center for Shelter Medicine so that our veterinary team could give her the emergency surgery she so desperately needed.

As Dreamer recovered, her personality began to shine through. Dreamer loves affection and would proudly show off her stuffed animals by carrying them around in her mouth. Our staff and volunteers became smitten with this snuggly, sweet-tempered girl—and we knew it wouldn’t be long before an adopter felt the same way!

To help her get some extra attention, we created a special video of Dreamer to share on social media—and it did the trick! Dreamer’s new mom watched her videos over and over before driving an hour to our San Diego Campus to meet her. And when she did, it was love at first sight. Today, Dreamer is living life to the fullest with her new family.

Your support made this sweet dog’s dreams of health, happiness and a loving family come true. Thank you for ensuring that animals who come to us in need of urgent medical care have the chance to heal and find homes of their own.

Your gifts play an important role in ensuring we can provide animals the care they need when they need it most. To learn how you can ensure your support for our work continues into the future, contact Katie Chalmers at KChalmers@sdhumane.org or (619) 798-0498.
