Olive Makes a Comeback

OliveYour generosity is the reason that animals like Olive get the life-changing medical care they so desperately need.

When 12-year-old Olive was found by a good Samaritan in Escondido, her fur was matted and she was suffering from a wounded eye. Timid and fearful, Olive wasn’t easy to capture—but finally she trusted her finder enough to get close.

Olive was taken to our Escondido Campus, where our veterinarians examined her carefully. While she was trembling and scared, our staff reassured her with kindness and treats. They performed radiographs and blood work and gave her medication to make her more comfortable.

In addition to her matted fur and painful eye, which turned out to be the result of an advanced cataract and inflammation, we discovered that Olive had Stage 4 dental disease.

OliveThis sweet senior pup deserved the very best care we could provide. Thanks to the support we receive from friends like you, we were able to perform surgery to remove Olive’s painful eye, extract seven of her decaying teeth and give her plenty of love while she healed.

Through it all, Olive grew more comfortable with our staff and would quickly find a lap to sit on and get pets. After nearly a month in our care, Olive was adopted and her healing was finally complete. Thank you for giving this deserving dog a second chance.
