Third Time is a Charm for the Fantastic Feline Odin

OdinOdin first found a home through San Diego Humane Society two years ago, so when he recently came back into our care, we wanted to make sure this fabulous feline continued to have the loving home he deserves.

Back in 2020, when he was just a kitten, Odin was abandoned with a small bag of kibble on the side of a highway—a fate that would typically end sadly for someone so young. Fortunately, a compassionate San Diegan witnessed the incident as it was happening and hurried over to retrieve this precious cat. She brought him directly to San Diego Humane Society where we treated him for mild injuries, including a broken tooth.

It didn’t take long for Odin to find his forever home—or so we thought. Odin was adopted within a week by a family with a parent in a wheelchair. Everything seemed to work out well for a while, but recently the family had to move and were no longer able to provide for Odin’s needs along with their own. They knew San Diego Humane Society would be the right place for him to find a new home, so they surrendered him back to our care.

Because Odin was healthy and accustomed to living in a home, he was a perfect candidate for our foster program. A volunteer took him in and gave him plenty of love and attention while we searched for a new permanent home. She called him a “fluffy little house lion” who loved to chase bugs, spread out and stretch anywhere he could find space and cuddle in her lap for pets.

After a month in foster care, Odin attracted the attention of a family looking for a new pet. They couldn’t resist his furry and fun-natured energy, and we’re happy to report Odin is now happy in their care! We’ll always be there for Odin and any other animals who may need a second second chance.
