Titan's Big Heart

Titan

Titan was in our care for about a month before he found his new home.

Sometimes, an animal comes into the shelter and the first thing you see is their heart. That was definitely the case with Titan, who was relinquished to our San Diego Campus by his previous owner. This 3-year-old Pitbull actually had a huge heart shape on his back—but he also had a big one inside. While he was in our care for about a month, he wiggled his way into our hearts.

Every day, thanks to the legacy of support from friends like you, San Diego Humane Society is here for animals like Titan. In addition to shelter and plenty of love, we're able to provide animals with individualized behavior training through our state-of-the-art Behavior Center. There, animals suffering from shy, fearful and other challenging behaviors receive the care they need to prepare for success in loving homes.

When he came to us, Titan was afraid of strangers and didn't get along with all other dogs. Our trainer moved slowly with Titan and soon found he liked treats and responded well to happy talk. He also perked up when asked if he wanted to go for a walk. Once outside, he warmed up, enjoying pets from his human and leaning in to get more.

As we spent more time with Titan, he became comfortable with more people. We found out that he knows commands like sit, shake and down. And he loves cream cheese!

Over time, Titan continued to improve—until he was finally ready for a new family! We were thrilled when Titan was adopted into a quiet household with dog-savvy adults. This sweet pup wiggled his way into the hearts of our staff and volunteers, and now he's the life of the party in his new home!

Thank you for your commitment to animals like Titan. We can only give animals the support they deserve because of you.
