Providing a Safety Net of Care

Tillie

Tillie, a German Shepherd who was relinquished to San Diego Humane Society at 4 months old

Your support helps ensure that no matter what treatable medical condition an animal may have, they will receive the specialty care they need at San Diego Humane Society.

This made all the difference to Tillie, a German shepherd puppy who was relinquished to our shelter at 4 months old. Upon arrival, Tillie's initial medical evaluation revealed that she had a severe fracture in one of her rear legs. We're uncertain as to how long Tillie was living with this fracture, but we were sure she needed immediate treatment to free her from the pain.

The injury affected Tillie's growth plate, so her rear left leg may never grow to its proper length. But we were able to heal her injured leg, get her the care she desperately needed and find a very special family to adopt Tillie. Today they continue to give her all the care and love she needs to remain safe, healthy and happy.

Tillie relaxing on the couchTillie may have experienced a difficult start to her life, but her spirit, enthusiasm and joy for life will never be stinted. When you support San Diego Humane Society, you provide the safety net that vulnerable animals like Tillie desperately need. Thank you so much for enabling us to give animals in our community the life-changing help they deserve.
